Thurrock Independents are deeply concerned about the ongoing dispute between Thurrock Council and refuge collection staff. This dispute must be resolved without industrial action and the inconvenience this will place upon Thurrock residents.
Thurrock Independent Leader, Cllr Graham Snell, said: “It is vital that both sides communicate with each other in a mature and constructive manner. We can already see some attempting to turn this into a political issue. We need clear and calm heads and not politically charged antagonism. The residents of Thurrock will rightfully take an extremely dim view should this dispute be allowed to escalate further. We hope that both our Labour and Conservative colleagues will agree with us and avoid stirring this dispute up for political gain.”
