Alan Field To Stand For Thurrock Independents In Aveley By-Election

Thurrock Independents announce Alan Field as their candidate for the Aveley and Uplands By-Election on the 21st March 2019.

Alan Field said: “I’m delighted and honoured to be standing as the Thurrock Independent Candidate for the Aveley and Uplands By-Election. Service to my community has always been very important to me. I served my country for 14 years in the RAF. For the last two decades I have served my community in Aveley and Thurrock as a school governor, Chair of the Aveley Village Community Forum and Minister of the Aveley Christian Centre. I have helped organise the Christmas Market, Remembrance Sunday commemorations, May day events, St Georges day events, and Christmas lights for many years. I established the Aveley Community Centre and have been a key figure in the building of the new centre due to open this autumn.

“On the 21st March I will be asking the residents to put their faith in me. I have a proven track record of delivering for this community. If residents put their faith in me, I will deliver for them. Their concerns and hopes are my concerns and hopes. I live here, love this community and am dedicated to improving the lives of all who live here.”

Thurrock Independents Party Leader and Aveley Cllr Luke Spillman, said: “It is a true privilege and honour to announce Alan Field as our candidate. When I formed this party, my vision was for every candidate we put up to be a true local community champion. Alan Field’s record of service to both his country and this community speaks for itself. He is the voice this community needs and head and shoulders above the other candidates on the ballot paper. He is man of true integrity and has a genuine love for his home and all of his neighbours.

“Aveley faces many challenges. Alan Field will fight the published Conservative plans to build 2,100 homes in Aveley. Alan Field will fight to mend the awful damage done to Aveley’s medical services by this Government and the Conservative Administration at Thurrock Council. We must fight the Conservative plans for 2,100 homes. If the Conservatives win Aveley and Uplands on the 21st March then Aveley will end up with 2,100 extra homes. The decision for voters is that stark. The Thurrock Independents, the only party not to vote for the catastrophic Conservative Local Plan, are Aveley’s first and last line of defence against this community being concreted over.”
